World Cup Monkey
Many coaches have decided this time to keep their big stars back home and give a chance for unknown players. That decision could cost them big time
World Cup tournament is by far the most big curios and interesting in soccer, but 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa will be special and full of surprises as the big players in the past World Cup winning stars, that were the main factor in the success of their team, will get to see World Cup on television.
World Cup is going to be full of surprises, more anonymous talented players, less world known stars. The real stars this time will be the coaches and their choice of adopt players.
Players like Ronaldinho, Adriano, Ronaldo, Patou and Roberto Carlos who is already accustomed to the previous World Cup tournaments will not play in South Africa's World Cup. That is the result of coach Donga's considerations which involved non-professional considerations in selecting his which led to one of the most weak adopt history Brazil's World Cup.
World Champions Italy prominent in the list of World Cup players that will be absent. Talents like Kasano and Balotali will not play in South Africa this summer. Even the 2006 world cup star and the man who led the masters , Luca Toni of Italy was not invited, and it is clear that this is the result of the non- professional considerations of coach Marcello Lippi.
The same also applies to most spoken World Cup team, Argentina, which probably has the most surprising names. Maradona invited team players that are mostly unknown, from the Argentine league games, or players past their time like Ron Palermo, leaving out Zantti and Cambiasso that gave Inter a dream season, but it seems it was not enough for Maradona. The reason he didn’t invite them are non-professional.
Players like Gago, Riquelme and Gabi Milito from Barcelona also ware not summoned. Instead these players Maradona select anonymous and unknown players that are playing Argentine league as Jose Sosa, Juan Mercier and Sebastian Blanco.
Many respected and appreciated players like Van Nistelrooy, Toresten Frings , Kevin Korani; that scored 18 goals this season, Karim Benzema and Samir Nasri will be deeply missed during the tournament this summer.
It's certainly going to be the World Cup of surprises; the missing players will be the main stars because their absence will bewell felt during the World Cup games.
Coaches chose their adopt out of non-professional considerations. How else can we explain that players given a perfect season are not welcome, while players that were hardly played' known or had a wick season got their ticket to South Africa?
There is no doubt that the decisions of the coaches for selecting adopt will affect the fate of their World Cup teams, and who knows, maybe it can cost them dearly…
